Adventure Travel Guide

As a native Beijinger, I lead a two day quick tour in Beijing city area for my US good friends early this April. It is my first time being a local tour guide to foreigners so everything was new and fresh to me. I found the experience was very valuable and interesting, so I wrote it down and am sharing it with any foreign travelers who are planning a trip to Beijing, especially those who are planning a short trip either for sightseeing or for the coming 2008 Olympics. I hope it will be a helpful guide and that you find the information useful.

You can rent a car in Aspen and buy a map so you could navigate by yourself. The advantage of this is that it is a private tour. You will not be pressured with time. It is also relaxing to drive in new scenery, and just take all the view in and cherish it.

‘Twas the night before Christmas and all through the house, not a creature was stirring, except for . . . Babymouse. The holidays are here and everyone’s enjoying their favorite traditions-eating latkes, decorating for Kwanza, singing holiday songs, and most of all, being with family. Well, everyone except Babymouse. Babymouse only has one thing on her mind-PRESENTS!!! And whether she has to face down the ghosts of mean girls past or outsmart Santa himself, she’ll do whatever it takes to make sure she gets the present she wants. Will Babymouse find a whiz-bang under the tree?

In its 1980s/1990s heyday, the world was a much simpler place and so was Lonely Planet’s business – siargao travel guide books, originally for young backpackers but ultimately for everyone, which is maybe where its issues began. Somewhere along the way Lonely Planet lost touch with the zeitgeist and it’s been playing catch up ever since.

Talk to people that travel frequently. So many people think they HAVE to use a travel specialist, and in the process totally forget to talk to friends or relatives that travel regularly. It’s these kinds of people that are usually the best with locating the best or least expensive times to fly and can generally locate the cheapest international flights accurately. More than just flights, people that travel a lot are usually fluent with hotels, attractions, renting cars, and all the other factors you need to consider while travel internationally.

Besides a camera, bringing a journal is another thing to consider. Recording your feelings and thoughts as you visit a certain place may take some of your time but it is definitely worthwhile. Instead of pen and a diary, you can also use gadgets to chronicle your vacation. The main goal is just you are able to recount the memories you have made and share them with others.

Maximize your vacation days by planning ahead your stay. Hunt for a good hotel with an affordable rate, select the areas you want to visit, know the events you want to go to and see, and get the best flight deals. Aspen travel deals offer a complete package with cheap flights, cheap car rental rates, and cruises if you prefer.

It is definitely advisable to invest as much time as you can into getting to know about the town you are moving to. This will no doubt help you settle there better. This is all the more applicable when you do not have too many people you know there. And for those of us who love to be independent, it is not easy to ask friends for favors all the time. So make sure you know what’s where in the town. Do make sure you get a place to live not too far from the work joint. Many companies are located on the outskirts of town.
